Deadline Extended on April 30th 2003!

This year, the Special Events and Logistics and the Music Ministry embarked on a joint project which is now the 1st Glory CFC Canada Songwriting Festival. With the songwriting festival materials made available by CFC Manila, a songwriting committee was formed to tackle the exciting work of formulating the rules and regulations and the subsequent tasks that the festival entails.

To stir up the already excited committee members, the song, "I Will Sing Forever" written by a Filipino Jesuit priest, Manoling Francisco, S.J. was adopted as this year's festival theme song.

The songwriting festival was launched on October 19th at St. Aidan's Catholic Church, attended by members of CFC and the CFC Canada National Council members.

The semi-finals night will be held between the months of June and July 2003 in the different areas where CFC is present. At about the same time, Toronto will hold its semi-finals night as well.

In October of 2003, the Finals night will be held in Toronto. Two winners will be chosen from this competition, who will be sent to Manila to compete in the 6th International Songwriting Festival. The songwriting festival is intended to happen every two years rotating it among the areas.

OBJECTIVES

1. Discover the richness of talents in the present membership of Couples for Christ and its Family and Social Ministries in Canada;
2. Encourage a deeper sense of community in local CFC areas;
3. Promote creativity in Christian music with emphasis on composition;
4. Enhance spiritual worship through Christian music.
